Three friends—twenty-somethings, raised on divorce, Watergate, and scarred by the fallout of the ’80s (think crack and Ronald Reagan)—represent a new generation. Underemployed and overeducated, they have nowhere to direct their anger and no culture to replace their alienation, so they tell stories. A new lexicon emerges, filled not with planets of regret but with daydreams of what could be.
